Happy New Year! It’s [finally] 2015! MPR proposed to me in February 2013 and we booked our wedding in March 2013. Now our wedding date of February 14, 2015 is only 6 weeks away! I truly can’t believe it. Even though I know it’s only 6 weeks away, it doesn’t feel like it’s that close. I’ve grown accustomed to believing it’s two years away. However, as the little details of our big day come together and the finishing touches arrive in the mail (and by gift) I can’t help but acknowledge that we are getting hitched next month. I’m. so. excited!

I must be a workaholic because after 5 days off, I’m chomping at the bit to go back to the office today. Don’t get me wrong, I loved having time to relax, but I could only sit still for so long. I ended up reorganizing my entire closet and throwing out a full garbage bag of stuff that was hanging around our apartment. I’m also excited because one of my work besties got engaged over Christmas and I can’t wait to see her! This is another short week followed by a 4-day weekend, ending in 2015, aka just a few short weeks away from our wedding. When did that happen?!

This week was the epitome of work hard, play hard. After a long week in the office working on end-of-year projects and hitting that point of overwhelming, I let loose this weekend by going out on Friday night and having an all-day marathon of Tiny House Nation and The Newsroom on Sunday. Now I need to go hard for two more days before a glorious 5-day weekend over the Christmas holiday. We can do it!

This time of year is always the craziest – both in and out of the office. However, I am taking the time to stop and enjoy the winter weather and the magic of the holiday season. My satellite radio is officially, permanently set to the holiday station (#17), and I’ve been enjoying our various Christmas parties scattered throughout the month. There’s just something about this time of year that puts a pep in my step. Can you believe that Christmas is next week already?! I’m not even done with my holiday shopping & I’m in the midst of stuffing our wedding invites into envelopes. It’s crunch time! Here are 5 details from my past week:

I’ve been spoiled by the Adirondacks lately. We spent last weekend on Lake George for a wedding, and I just got back from a long weekend on Schroon Lake. Lake life suits me. This morning was back to the grind, but I can reminisce for as long as I’d like. Enjoy the rest of your week – it’s already Wednesday!

Baby rabbit in garden

We found a baby bunny in our garden. MPR fed it carrots, naturally.

5 details: Drew & Steph’s Wedding

This past weekend marked wedding #3 of the season. This time we were celebrating the marriage of our college friends, Drew & Steph. Both Long Islanders who escaped to the Adirondacks, every piece of this wedding was picturesque and so inherently them. I had such an amazing time, and there were so many special details, that I ended up having to steal a few photos from their Instagram hashtag because I couldn’t catch them all! One detail I am missing is a set of Adirondack chairs that their friend and groomsman built for them, which served as their guest books. I can just picture them over the years, sitting in those chairs on their front porch. I love it. Congrats Drew & Steph!

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday weekend! Mine was filled with family, friends, fireworks and cocktails. I also tried out two new patriotic recipes, sangria and Oreo Balls, but managed to not take a single picture of them. Oh well! I guess that just means I’ll have to make them again. Have a great week!

5 details: Tara & Emerson’s Wedding

What a beautiful, perfect weekend for a wedding. I had so much fun in Ithaca celebrating the marriage of Tara & Emerson alongside our college girlfriends. Of course, we couldn’t be there for the weekend without taking a little afternoon trip to Cortland to visit our old stomping grounds. I can’t believe we graduated FOUR YEARS AGO! What’s more, Tara & Emerson have been together since before we all started college together, so it was even more special to witness their wedding after watching them grow and support one another all throughout undergrad (&grad school, &first jobs). They did a great job of incorporating their different cultures and special details about their relationship in the ceremony and reception. I could go on and on, but I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

Usually, I load up all of my blog posts for the week over the weekend, but this past Saturday & Sunday I was consumed with a wedding DIY project (post on that coming soon!), hence why 5 details is 2 days late. At least it was in the name of blog research and wedding crafting, right? As for this week, I am very excited because I have a college wedding this weekend, which means, a Cortland reunion in Ithaca, and two weeks later I have another in Lake George. In between hors d’oeuvres & first dances & cake cuttings I vow to soak in the details and report back. In the meantime, here’s 5 details from my past week:

This past week I took some time off from blogging because I’ve been receiving a lot more copywriting assignments at work, and by the time I get home, well, I don’t feel like writing anymore! But after a 2.5 day weekend (Thanks Summer Fridays!) I’m back with a full week of posts to share. Plus, this coming Saturday is the official first day of Summer – who wouldn’t be excited about that?! Here are 5 details from my past week:
